2012 Media Guide: Faces of Britain - Interview opportunities

  • 02 Jul 2012

To assist media who will be visiting Britain this summer, VisitBritian have produced a series of essential guides that will introduce our fabulous Country in all it's glory.

Faces of Britain and International Faces of Britain will give you all the information you need to arrange interviews with men and women from all corners of the country who are available to share their exceptional stories with you, both those who were born here and those who were born overseas but have chosen to make Britain their home.

We have selected a cast of characters who have fascinating stories to tell, knowledge to share and enthusiasm in abundance for their particular interests and of course their home. In the guide you will discover chefs to curators, TV presenters to artistic directors, milliners to brewers, gardeners, sportspeople and story-tellers galore.

Meet the director of the World Shakespeare Festival, Deborah Shaw; Chairman of the English Wine Producers and owner, Ridgeview Wine Estates, Michael Roberts; the inaugural winner of BBC Masterchef, Derek Johnstone - now head chef, Greywalls Hotel and Chex Roux restaurant; Pru Porretta, Coventry's modern day Lady Godiva and many more British personalities.

In International Faces of Britain, we introduce you to people to interview from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, China, Cuba, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Holland, India, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mauritius, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, UAE and USA. They are available to talk with you about the countryside, culture, fashion, food, heritage, music and sport. They have made Britain their home and bring an international flavour and their particular cultural perspective – for example if you want to get an Aussie’s perspective on recreating the beer brewed for the 1908 Olympics speak to Jasper Cuppaidge, Owner, Camden Town Brewery.

Meet Hannah Lobelson, Wardrobe Manager, Shakespeare’s Globe; Bronte Blomhøj- Aurell, Founder of Scandinavian Kitchen; Ali Al-Habsi, Goalkeeper for Premier League Team, Wigan Athletic, and Loyd Grossman OBE, TV Presenter/Chef, and many more ‘Brits’ with an international twist.

This is an exciting opportunity for the media to witness first-hand the breadth of cultural and ethnic diversity that makes Britain unique - we hope that their stories will enthusee you as much as they have us and you will take away a cache of interviews to enchant your readers and viewers.
