Mulberry launches Brilliant Britain guide – a ‘love letter’ to the nation
During this year of Great British celebrations, English luxury brand Mulberry has created a guide to all that makes Britain such a brilliant place to be.
Mulberry’s heritage is rooted in British traditions, from its start in the rural Somerset countryside to its continued dedication to British craft and manufacture, and today the company launches the Brilliant Britain project with an online guide.
Inspired by the British government’s GREAT campaign to promote Britain on an international scale, Brilliant Britain looks at the country’s unsung heroes, undiscovered places, people and talents and is Mulberry’s celebration of these, and of the time-honoured traditions of the country it calls home. The guide brings together a selection of landscapes, architecture, craft, food, people, traditions, quirky facts and innovations into a tailored and ‘live’ guide at www.brilliantbritainguide.com.
Brilliant Britain booklets will also be available at selected Mulberry stores in the UK and Europe from October, and will launch in Mulberry stores in Asia and the United States in future months. It will also be available in the stores of many of the booklet’s featured brands.
The project has been designed as live and inclusive, with a section called Your Brilliant Britain where visitors to the website can send in their own nominations. With the help of Britain’s national and international admirers, the aim is to collect all submitted recommendations onto a geographical map of Brilliant Britain. Readers can then explore by region and see all its nominations, as the map grows and populates over time.
Nominations will also be curated into an online gallery for readers to browse through.
The best entries will be selected to win a ‘handbag of British curiosities’ – a Mulberry Union Jack Bayswater containing exclusive and wonderful things donated from people and brands featured.
